Catalyst One Day 11-16-09

Wow what a deal.  I was invited by our church ministery to join them on a trip to Maryland to view one of my favorite speakers Craig Groeschel.  Leading the charge FEE and Andy Stanley.  It was a once in a lifetime event for me.  The theme of the event: Momentum.  Designed around church growth but I can apply any of these principles within my own company and family life also.  I feel direction I have been looking for.
Just to highlight how things went it was amazing to hear Andy talk about less is more.  Do less but get better results by being focused on what you are doing.
Andy asked us if we had a place in life that no one else could do better.  I was stumped.  He peels off 3 I have and didnt realize how important they are: 1. Husband, 2. Dad and 3. seeking god for my salvation.  I was setting way back in my seat as he told me how I must put these 1st in my ife.  I have alot of work to do.
On the way home after all of this I see my direction coming together.  Ministering to children.  Received 2 emails on the way home w/ opportunities to work in this area.  Sat in the meeting drawing on ideas on how to organize RCC small groups.  We have them now but each small group is working independant of the other.  We need to have focus and all be working toward the same goals.  I have a few people working w/ me in the background to put this all together.
Personal challange to my self:

1. Meet with the child I have been praying about within the next week.
2. Set up a meeting w/ small group leaders within RCC and have it scheduled for within 2 weeks
3. Put together pricing to impliment a better video projection experience from my talks w/ tech crews in MD.
4. Put Rachael in charge of my schedule and make sure I am putting my family first through all of this.
5. Advertise and plan on adding at least 1 new small group w/ new christians or those that want to learn more.
6. Become familiar w/ RCC website and begin talking on this project.  potentially adding audio files.
Lastly I must update this blog and be acountable to this schedule.

My mission for myself and Jesus

Its been a long road. I Overcame my drinking problems through Christ on 6/7/08. I had been drinking basically everyday to some extent. As I grew up I always felt I was kinda on the outside looking in and having a drink in my hand made me feel secure. I went to 10 schools in 12 years and always felt that I was at square one. My mom and dad divorced when I was 6 years old. It was a constant move or transit from one to the other. When I went out into the world at 18 I had no idea what to expect or how to handle being a man. I failed miserably. Until I found a Christian home and family @ Reidsville Christian Church I had never seen how to establish roots. Now I have found true direction and commitment to allow Christ to live through me and to allow him to use me in ways I never thought possible. I have gained the knowledge of how to apply my Christian belief out into the world. This is done by reaching out to everyone you see and to show them a glimpse of how wonderful Christ love can be. I have made a personal challenge for myself to go out and help children of divorced parents and abused kids. These guys need a loving person in their life that will give them direction and hope. Peace Hope Love are the only 3 things that can be guaranteed. I created this little blog not to just say how much I have done or plan to do but to put out where everyone can see what we can do if we put our mind to it. My first step is to give to the very people I intend to reach. 2nd I am making a effort to locate a child in middle school that is from a divorced family. I have someone in mind now. I pray everyday to just seize the moment when I can walk across the room and be a loving part of his life. 3rd I plan on creating some teams w/ adults and kids within our church as volunteers. In the background I need to equip myself w/ as much knowledge as possible. I am putting a plan together now. I am enrolling in a online school that will help give me the tools to make a difference. In order to be able to succeed in all of this I have been working on my own family to become the best Husband and Dad that I can. You will know how good of a leader you are by just looking at your own family. If they are strong you can guarantee that there is a strong family environment. Same way you can find out how good you can lead by working in a volunteer situation. If they follow you are good. If not you know you need to change something. They don't have to follow if you don't pay them. So, all this being said I would be no where without Christ. Allowing Jesus to lead my life as intended is allowing me to project all of this and make it work. I pray every day for Jesus to just give me the opportunity to open a door and bring people to Jesus. I thank him for just allowing me to be. Nothing more. I don't even understand what it truly means to live on the bare necessities. None of us do. I'm blessed and I thank him for my very being.

Peace

Words to lead by ,by Skip Moen

I am currently reading this book. It is 40 chapters. I am focusing on 1 chapter per day. To challenge my self I am fasting from TV during these 40 days. I finished a 40 day food fast on September on 25th 2009. This was a life changing event. So, this book being 40 chapters is relavent to me. I love the style of taking a single verse and pulling 1 word out and giving you the greek word it comes from with insight on what this all means. Reading this w/ prayer and application is quite rewarding. This is a great book.
